I will fully admit, I’m not totally caught up on my Project Life. There….I said it. It was so tough during the Summer months with the boys home and vacation to keep up to my “standard” of getting these pages done in a timely manner. For me though, it truly is a labor of love and when I “play” with my pages even more by using some of Dani’s fantastic digital designs I have even more fun. I do admit one thing right up front…I have tried everything and I just cannot take great photos of my Project Life pages….I truly need to figure out the secret of this.
For Week 29 (back at the end of July), I used Dani’s Hootenany kit available at here at Design by Dani and here at jessicaSprague.com. It was the perfect kit for the week as it was my son’s birthday and it included some awesome Summer colors. I go back and forth on whether I print blank blocks/journaling strips and then handwrite or I type first, but this week I typed first (mainly because I had a lot to say and I can get so much more down with typing).
Here is the first page. Except for the letter stickers and that file tab, all items are printed from Dani’s digital designs.
And Page 2 for the week….nothing I love more than Dani’s journaling blocks. They are a perfect fit for Project Life as she creates them just the right size, so if you need them to cover your whole 4×6 block they will work, but you can always downsize them to fit as a tag on your photo or in your 3×4 block.
Here a couple closeups of my “scrapped” blocks. For the first one I used a bingo card from Dani’s Playdate kit adding in a red block for journaling and the airplane. I love having a “break” in the photo and journaling aspect of Project Life with a fun and bold graphic block.
I’m a huge fan of word art and Dani’s is perfect in my book….the right mix of quirky and useful…LOL!!
I’m pretty devoted to Project Life and only wish I had started it sooner (although I’m sure to run out of room in my very small house with all these albums at some point!!). So to share the love, I made some 3×4 journaling cards for you to use in Project Life or on your digital layouts using Dani’s Hootenany kit. Click on the image below to download. The zip file contains one PDF file of all 4 images, as well as separate .png file of each image.
