Endless Summer

July 1st, 2008

Hi guys I just wanted to pop in share with you the amazing opportunity I had to work with the talented designers over at Songbird avenue, and I am this month’s featured designer! We came up with this fun summery kit!

All profits from the sale of this kit will go to benefit S.A.F.E. House, New Mexico: http://www.safehousenm.org.

About the Charity:

Sadly domestic abuse and violence touches everyone’s lives in some way. For myself, this became deeply personal when a close family member was forced to leave her home for the safety of herself and her young daughter. My family was completely powerless to help her situation because we were thousands of miles away. I am so grateful for organizations such as S.A.F.E. House who were there to take her in, give her a safe place to stay, and provide for her with the resources, counseling, and services she desperately needed to start her life again.

She is not alone. in the United States alone, in the year 2001, more than half a million American women (588,490 women) were victims of nonfatal violence committed by an intimate partner. And it is estimated that about 960,000 incidents of violence against a current or former spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend per year and about three million women are physically abused by their husband or boyfriend per year.(www.endabuse.org) Its organizations like S.A.F.E. house and other shelters that provide the resources these woman need to end the cycle of violence for themselves and their children.

Please help us support this worthy cause!

Stuff and Things…

June 21st, 2008

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful Summer!! Can you believe that we blinked and June is half-way gone?? I can already tell that this Summer is going to fly by! Here in the Pacific Northwest it hasn’t really felt like Summer for a few weeks now. The truth be told the miserable, cold, drissly weather was really starting to take its toll! Poor Lexi was convinced it had to still be Winter! LOL! Finally this week we got some sunshine and I am really hoping it will stay with us for a while!

We have had a very busy month around here… Lexi finally got her new glasses. I was worried about how well she would adjust to them, but so far she seems to be doing great. In order to encourage her, Mom and Dad both decided we would go in for eye exams too… since it had been a while for each of us. We are now a family of new glasses wearers! LOL! Here is a couple cute snaps of Lexi in her new glasses… I think they are adorable personally ;-).

I have been very busy with various digital (and non digital!) projects you will be seeing from me over the next few months… but I have also rediscovered a long lost love… reading! I admit through elementary and Junior high I was quite the avid bookworm, but since I hit High School and had enough required reading to keep me busy I just fell out of the habit. I would pick up the occasional book (Harry Potter) but I had convinced myself I didn’t really have the time for it. Lately I have been making time for it! LOL! It really first started about a month ago when I decided to read the Twilight books that I had heard so much about lately. I devoured them and loved every minute! (Ok I won’t go into my twilight obsession) but after that I found myself hungry for more reading! Since then I have read over twenty books and thoroughly enjoyed rediscovering this long lost love of mine. :) Lately if I am not working at the computer or cleaning the house, you will find me lost in a book. Its a very good thing I am a very quick reader! :)

In the midst of all this reading I managed to put together a couple of brand new fun, Summery kits! :)

I am working on a new 4th of July themed kit I really hope to have finished by this weekend. :) Sadly, I haven’t been doing very much scrapping lately. I miss it, and hopefully soon I will be able to sneak in a few scrappy moments! :)

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend! :) Thanks again for stopping by!

Shop Talk

Hi guys! Just a few new products to post! :) I have been busy this month!

Still Alive a Kicking!

May 27th, 2008

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great month, and I truly hope you are getting a bit more sunshine then we are! I am starting to lose hope! We had a couple days last week, but other than that its been dull, rainy and grey… I am really crossing my fingers for this weekend! :)

I have been up to my elbows in the usually family stuff, busy work and of course scrapping and designing!
Here are a few layouts I did in the past few weeks I haven’t shared:

I have had a couple questions asking why I don’t really post in galleries anymore. Honestly there are quite a few answers. First, just time. I don’t feel right about posting and running and I find myself with less and less time to spend in the galleries. :( Secondly, its just not really what its about for me anymore. Once I stopped posting in the galleries and just started sharing my pages here with friends and family I just felt so much pressure relieved, it became about me just expressing my creativity and preserving memories again. It is strangely liberating :) LOL.

We had a great 3 day weekend, kicking off with a Rock Band party on Saturday, and ending with Rick and I sneaking away to see Iron Man on Monday afternoon. :) My latest past time has been keeping me away from the computer more but I have been rediscovering my love of reading and its been quite addicting. :)

Ok, I have plenty to catch up on, but for now I need to keep this short and sweet… laundry calling ;-) Have a great Tuesday everyone! :) Thanks again for stopping by! :)

Scrappy Sunday!

April 20th, 2008

As fast paced as the week moves around here, I am beginning to relish Sundays! We are on the early church schedule, which means after church I have an entire afternoon free! It seems to me to be the perfect time to SCRAP! SCRAP! SCRAP! I rarely get a chance to durring the week anymore, and I am just a scrapbooker at heart! LOL! If I don’t get my scrappy time in I really start to lose mojo in the creativity department! Here are some of my LOs from last Scrappy Sunday:

On Thursday Lexi had an eye appointment, and it turns out that she needs glasses! I have to admit, it isnt a huge surprise since I have dealt with vision problems (coke bottles anyone?) all my life, and so has her father. So very soon we will be starting that new adventure… we are going to look at frames next week. I am very grateful that they screen kids so early now, my parents didn’t discover my vision problems until I was in first grade, so I had to adjust to glasses and incidentally a patch while I was in school. LOL. I have to admit, I am sure she is going to look as cute as a button in her new glasses! :)

We had some seriously strange weather this week! Everything from GORGEOUS and SUNNY to hail… and all in the same day! But the strangest by far was this weekend when is SNOWED!! LOL yep you read that right… SNOW! It was so strange to get snow, when we havent had any all winter, in the middle of April!! LOL! It came down pretty hard for about 1/2 hr, but it didn’t last long… just a freak little April Snow Storm haha!

On the design front I have been busy, busy, busy as usual and have a new release this week, just perfect for all your family photos!

And this week only (through Friday) you get this cute Banner Album with purchase!

Ok- thats about it from me! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Have a great next week!

Blog meet Blogger…

April 11th, 2008

Wow… ok I have been a really lame blogger lately! LOL! I think its high time I posted some sort of an update, and I have plenty to show you!

Easter:

We had a great Easter weekend but man it was busy! Lexi got to participate in a whoppin 3 egg hunts and received a grand total of 4 Easter baskets… we are talking MAJOR sugar overload here! LOL! It was a great weekend spending time with family we don’t see often enough though, but we were definitely happy to be home as well!

Hybrid:

I had so much fun making Lexi a baby album using The land of Nod and the Accordion album by Maya Road. :) I made a baby boy album too that I can’t wait to finish! If you want to make your own.. you can pick up templates for the boy and girl albums as well as the chipboard at Sweet Shoppe!

And I had plenty of new goodies last weekend too… I guess I should finally get around to posting them :)

First, a new Scrapper’s Toolbox set, as well as all the Scrapper’s Toolbox line is now at SSD!

And a brand new kit from me:

Through tomorrow only you get this adorable mini-tag album FREE with purchase!

Ok, well that’s about it from me! I through a couple recent LOs down there too… this new version of Wordpress is such an improvement, but I am still figuring out the gallery thing… bear with me! LOL! :) I hope you are all having a wonderful week! This weekend boasts 70 degree weather and I am so sooo looking forward to going out and playing in the sunshine! :) I want to air my camera out a bit too! :)

You won’t believe this…
